Getting started
From sign-up to visible to employers
Seven steps, about 45 minutes of real work. Nobody has to approve you to get listed - you control every step except the last one.
Create your account
2 minutesSign up at remotereadybw.com/register, then click the confirmation link we email you. You can't sign in until you've confirmed.
No confirmation email?Check spam and promotions first - that's where it usually lands. Still nothing after a few minutes, ask on our questions page and we'll verify you manually.
Fill in your profile
10 minutesIn your dashboard, open My profile. This is what employers eventually read, so it's worth doing properly rather than quickly.
Your CV upload here is the same file we read when we review you - so upload the version you'd actually send an employer.
Track 1 - CV Optimisation
20 items, ~20 minutesOpen Career Prep → CV Optimisation. It's 20 checkboxes grouped into 5 sections, and it is not a quiz - each box is a specific fix that decides whether an applicant tracking system can read your CV at all.
File & Layout
…plus Header & Contact Info, Experience & Achievements, Skills & Keywords, Education & Final Checks
Read it, don't just tick it
Read each line, then go and check your actual CV against it. If it isn't true yet, fix the CV first, re-upload it, then tick the box. Ticking everything without changing anything gets you a green bar and the same CV that wasn't getting replies.
The score label shifts as you go: 90%+ reads Excellent, 70%+ Good, 40%+ Needs Work.
Stuck on any item?
The CV guide explains every one of these in full, with examples - and there's a ready-made CV template you can download and fill in with your own details.
Track 2 - LinkedIn Optimisation
6 steps, ~15 minutesSix steps, each with the actual instruction attached. Work through them with LinkedIn open in another tab - every step is something you change on your profile, not something you answer here.
Professional photo + banner
Clear headshot, plain background. Not the default blue banner.
Compelling headline
[What you do] | [Your tools] | [What you're looking for]
About section
First 300 characters show before 'see more' - start with a hook.
Featured section + experience
Pin your portfolio link - it appears above experience.
Skills section
Add 10+ specific technical skills.
Custom profile URL
Set it to linkedin.com/in/your-name.
Read it, don't just tick it
Same rule as the CV. Make the change on LinkedIn, look at your profile, then tick. The custom URL one matters more than it looks - an auto-generated URL ending in random characters reads as an unclaimed, half-finished profile to a recruiter.
Want the long version?
The LinkedIn guide walks through each step with examples of what a strong headline and About section actually look like. There's a portfolio guide too, if you don't have a link to pin yet.
Track 3 - Interview Preparation
3 sessions, ~10 minutes eachThis is the track people misunderstand most. It is nota test you pass - it's practice, and you score yourself.
First, read the question bank: 10 real questions across General, Remote-specific, Behavioural (STAR), Technical, and questions to ask them. Each one explains why employers ask it and what a good answer contains.
Then run the simulator. Each session works like this:
“Tell me about a time you solved a difficult problem.”
🎙 Record your answer out loud, then listen back before rating.
Now rate your confidence:
Read it, don't just tick it
The recording step is the whole point, and it's the one people skip. You cannot rate yourself until you've recorded - because hearing yourself answer out loud is where you notice the rambling, the “ums”, and the answer that made sense in your head. Nobody else ever hears these recordings.

Average confidence rating
🎉 You've completed 3 simulator sessions - Interview Ready badge earned
Five questions per session, drawn at random, two minutes each. Three sessions completes the track - and doing them on three different days is worth more than three in a row.
Your profile goes live automatically
instantThe moment all three tracks show complete, your profile publishes to the talent directory on its own. Nobody approves it. You don't have to ask us.
In Year 1 the directory covers tech fields. If you're in another field, everything above still works and is still worth doing - your CV, LinkedIn and interview practice are yours regardless - you just won't appear in the employer-facing directory yet.
Get vetted, then apply
one 20-minute callBeing listed is free and automatic. Applying to jobs through the platform needs one more step: a real screening. We read your CV, you record answers to four set questions, and we have a short call.
That's what the ✓ Vettedbadge means, and it's what companies are actually paying attention to. They see your profile, the badge and your video - never our private notes, and never your Career Prep self-assessment scores.
We start the vetting conversation, so there's nothing to apply for here. Get your profile live first - that's the queue.

How scoring works right now
Career Prep is self-assessment. You work through each checklist and mark off what you've genuinely done - nothing is automatically grading your CV or rating your interview answers today.
That's deliberate for this phase. It keeps us honest about what the platform is, and it means the real feedback comes from a person: we read every CV ourselves and write back.
Coming in Phase 2
Automatic AI analysis of your CV and interview answers - instant, specific feedback instead of a checklist you score yourself.
Vetting stays human. The CV review and screening call behind the Vetted badge will always be done by a person, not an algorithm. That's the part companies trust, and it isn't getting automated.
