What was hard

Implementing row-level security policies so graduates can only access their own data while employers can browse all public profiles - getting the RLS rules right without locking legitimate users out took significant debugging.

What I'd do differently

I'd write automated tests from the start. Adding tests to existing features after the fact takes twice as long and breaks your focus.

What was hard

Designing a reservation system that handles edge cases cleanly - overlapping bookings, cancellations, same-day walk-ins - without overcomplicating the UI for non-technical restaurant staff.

What I'd do differently

I'd involve the end users (restaurant staff) in the design process earlier. Building something intuitive for non-developers requires watching real users interact with it, not just guessing.
